GP Chiti & Sergio Montori - Africa Nera Africa Rossa

Technically this is not a library, but rather a soundtrack to an Italian TV Movie. It is, however, released on a library label, thus, to me, it is library. Plus it has an obsessive sound that tends to be found on library labels. The nearest comparison to the music would be Umiliani's Africa LP. Faux African music with synthesizer that sounds like a African flute. It has a very playful sound on some tracks, but dramatic as well. Great stuff, and little known.

Enjoy!

Awake - Fasce in Colore

Nice little record on the Titian label. I believe this label is late 70s, but this record has an earlier sound. Eerie concrete inspired music with an underlying structure which stays constrained (unlike a lot of more traditional 'concrete' avant garde music). Sustained organ for days. Who exactly is Awake ? I have heard speculation that it is Alessandroni, but odds are it is Stelvio Chimenti, but your guess is as good as mine, with these Italian alias' it doesn't even necessarily have to be one person at all.

Enjoy!

Luciani Simoncini - Storia & Politica

Unknown Italian label with some great dramatic music. It is somewhat of a continuation of Simoncini's Immagini No 2 on Panda label (although I think this one is better). Yalta is a dark twisted solo Cymbaline (Dulcimer) track. Ideologia e Prassi is a dramatic track with a hip drum beat and minor string stabs, reminds me of Caravelli's April Music Volume (16). This song is very reminiscent of Immagini. Interventisi is more drama with a funky beat and tasteful strings, this seems to almost have a hiphop feel to it.

Enjoy!

Oscar Rocchi - Erbe Selvatiche

Erbe Selvatiche translates to "Wild Grass" in Italian. I'm not sure what the significance of this title means, this music sounds like 70s porno music rather than anything related to nature.

Enjoy!

Paolo Renosto - Antica Miscellenea

This is another one courtesy of J** P*** (record and mp3s), great dark antique music with flute, oboe, harp, guitar. This reminds me of Umiliani's Storia E Preistoria lp. Very similiar to the last post as well. Renosto is better known as Lesiman.

Enjoy!
